    I haven't decided exactly my topic as of yet, but I am leaning towards focusing on some aspect of Serena Joy's role in The Handmaid's Tale.

    For 1984, I'm going to do doublethink and why people in the book do it (AKA why it works on people), and Orwell's expression of the human instinct to either
    a. seek security (economic and war, bassicly all promises Big Brother makes) through warped perception
    or
    b. seek acceptance (be in group like in two minutes hate is mentioned) through warped perception
